European project management
![]() |
MFG has longstanding experience in designing and managing international projects, both as project partner and as project lead. Our service portfolio encompasses a wide range of activities, including administrative tasks and network coordination, event management and training as well as dissemination and consulting activities. Our expertise is demonstrated, for example, in the IST-funded ACTen project (www.acten.net), for which MFG as project lead received special recognition from the European Commission for the outstanding quality of its administrative handling.
MFG is currently participating in a variety of EU projects, e.g. as a coordinator for the e-BSN project FOCUS focusing on e-business and training, as a coordinator for SPREAD, an initiative in the field of digital literacy that is being funded by DG Education and Culture, or as a coordinator in the eParticipation2007-funded VoicE project, which is concerned with a novel tool for electronic citizen consultation on the European level.
Project development, partner search and consortium formation
MFG continuously monitors EU trends in innovation and media policy, as well as related funding programmes and calls for proposals. MFG sets up project proposals and international consortia. Furthermore, MFG puts great emphasis on developing close links with EU institutions and representatives, e.g. through a permanent agent in Brussels and extensive collaboration with the regional representative office of Baden-Württemberg as well as with other Brussels-based institutions. MFG is represented at various international conferences and events, e.g. FP7-IST 2006 in Helsinki or the eChallenges in Den Hague. Through these strong international and regional networks we also assist partners from abroad in finding business partners in Baden-Württemberg or support them in forming European project consortia with partners from our region.
Types of cooperation
MFG’s cooperative efforts take on a variety of shapes: collaborative projects, cluster or network initiatives, knowledge and technology transfer or simply informal information exchange. In its international cooperations, MFG benefits from its excellent regional networks as the coordinator of several business clusters, such as the Linux Solutions Group European initiative (www.lisog.org) and Baden-Württemberg: Connected (www.bwcon.de), one of Europe’s largest IT and high-tech clusters.
