SPreaD – Strategic Project Management Tool-Kit for Creating Digital Literacy

Objectives:

SPreaD will provide regional and national institutions with a practical and innovative guide to developing and managing large-scale sustainable digital literacy initiatives for citizens. Building on the experience of a minimum of seven completed large-scale regional digital literacy initiatives the consortium will analyse and describe Key Success Factors and Lessons Learned and provide practical advice with regards to the management of such projects. Digital literacy is considered vital to securing Europe’s competitiveness and cultural identity.

SPreaD ensures that future European digital literacy initiatives will be based on sound management skills and on an understanding of the key factors that influence the success and sustainability of digital literacy initiatives.

Target groups:

Approach:

The tool-kit will include advice on topics such as

Expected results:

10.000 toolkits will be disseminated by all consortium members as well as at least three transnational training networks (i.e. Cedefop, ReferNET, EVET and EAEA) to ensure maximum impact – consortium members have participated in Cedefop research projects and are members of several of these networks

The tool-kit will also be promoted at EU-conferences (i.e. Online Educa, eLearning 2008). This will ensure the long-term impact of digital literacy training throughout Europe by increasing sustainability, efficiency, accountability and focus of new initiatives. As a result, Europeans will retain a competitive edge in the global job market, overcome learning barriers imposed by demographic change and be able to access a wide range of cultural heritage and information resources
